I watched it...

Last night I watched the GOP Republican Convention last night.  Seriously, I loved it.. watching history in the making, it made me giddy.  I have the opportunity to make a decision, to help shape my future.  Usually I am not one to go around preaching my political views, I have mine, I stand by them, and believe in them.  And I have never felt it necessary to rub it in others faces.
BUT on this occassion I have to admit that I honestly was moved to tears by some of the people who spoke.  I already have read alot on the new republican candidate Mitt Romney, but hearing even more stories, from the horses mouth was so impressive.  And did anyone else catch the opening prayer on Thursday night?  The guy was totally LDS and set such a lovely tone for the night.. yeah.. not everyone did amazing, but some speechs were phenominal.
Although some people didn't feel Mitt Romney got his point across I felt he did a good job, I believe in what he is about and I have seen what he has accomplished for so many various things in our country.  So here are so highlights I hearted, oh so much.

There were tons more.. I am a sap and totally cried, the spirit was felt at this convention I am sure.  Probably something that most have never felt before... regardless of if Mitt Romeny wins or not, he has made an impact for the better.

Oh Happy Birthday!!!

As my birthday approached, I wasn't looking forward to the number coming with it..... I know some might think I have no room to complain, I mean, I was/am only 23.  But my birthday came and went and it was absolutely wonderful, I honesty am humbled at the amount of love that was shown to me.  It meant the world to me and made me actually look forward to this year and wear the new age of 23 proudly.

I like to think that I had a weekend celebration for my birthday.... it started out with a early morning walk followed by a cupcake for breakfast.. yeah chocolate peanut butter cupcake.  It was so worth it, {note to all, I have NO regrets of how much I ate on my birthday.. it was A-LOT}

When I came up to go walking in the morning, the upstairs was decorated with a banner of my name and a streamer.  My little sister Gabby is the official decorator of Birthday's... so in addition to the decorations I received a custom homemade poem/saying from Gabby, yep folks it is an original.

I spent half of my day at work, the lovely girls there thought it was a good idea to suran-wrap my desk, computer, keyboard, phone..etc.  And as time would have it, I needed to check three patients in.  We had bagels for breakfast, chocolate rum cake {my favorite} Cafe Zupas for lunch, then to top it off my oh so cute sister brought me a Jamba Juice.. a tradition done yearly by her.. I heart her so much.

Following a day of "hard work" I went shopping with my Mom, some of the sibs, and Daniella, a foreign exchange student from Germany.. we went to the mall and found all sorts of little lovelies... I even grabbed some navy blue pink polka dot pants and mustard skinny jeans.  PP would be sooooo impressed.

After a few hours of shopping we ventured home where we got some Chin Wah to-go, we ate way to much and were going to burst out the seams.. so we took a small detore to opening some gifts and then even though we still were super full ate marzipan cake.  Which needless to say is the. best. cake. in. THE. world.

Then to top of the birthday weekend, one of my very best friends was married in the Draper Temple.. I literally was with her from sun up to sun down.  From doing her hair, seeing the sealing, helping with decorations, the luncheon, pictures, reception, catching the bouquet {straight up, second one this summer} then cleaning up the reception.  It was exhausting and wonderful, I loved it oh so much.

It was a wonderful weekend filled with happiness and love and completely joy and sassiness.   Thank you to all who made my birthday so very special, there are to many to name just know I love you and appreciate you being in my life more then anything else.  You have made all the difference.

Date 37

I have wonderful friends, who like to make sure I fulfill my dating goals and who don't want me to be a cat lady who actually hates cats.  So they continually give me new men to go on dates with.  Well... the lovely Miss Brooke talked about lining me up with Mr. T while we were in San Georghe.  I forgot that she had mentioned it and didn't think any more of it until I got a call from a random number... well it was Mr. T.  We chatted it up for a bit and then asked me on a date for Thursday.

So... Thursday came and Mr. T told me to wear my hiking clothes/shoes.  I was prepared, luckily I am into hiking.  Mr. T came and got me and told me that the date had a "S" theme.. so we went and goes subs and salads.  Then headed up to hike to a lake and watch a sunset... see the theme here?

We started the hike up to the Lake... not really sure, but I guess I wasn't used to an intense incline... I was STRUGGLING on the hike up.. Mr. T was freaking part mountain goat, just roaring up the mountain... so I was not much for talking while hiking up the mountain.  We were getting pretty close to our lake and there were to buck's on the trail so we had to take a bit of a detour to avoid being killed... nbd.

We finally reached the lake and ate our subs and salad and watched the sunset.  It was really fun, we chatted for awhile then decided it was time to start heading down because it was getting dark.  Mr. T came prepared for the date with not only his and her backpacks but also head lamps so we could see in the dark.  Mr. T and I started heading down the trail.   Once we started our way down the trail, it started getting really, really dark and it was hard to see.  Luckily for me not only was Mr. T part mountain goat ... he had night vision and super sonic ears.  Because on our way down the two buck's were on the path again.

So we had to cut down on this steep slope and finally found our way to the path again but low and behold their was a mama and baby moose on the path... so I hid behind a tree while my date watched the moose to see when they would go elsewhere so we could be on our way.  Finally the moose left the path and we were able to make our way down the mountain.  Mr. T told me to keep an eye out for any shinning eyes.... so we decided to take a short cut to get to the car sooner.  But after taking the short cut, Mr. T pointed out some glowing eyes 20 feet away in the grass.. but all the sudden the glowing eyes got higher.

I totally started freaking out, I started yelling/whispering is that a bobcat, that is a bobcat!?  So Mr. T stopped me and was like Meagan, that is a deer.... which I realized as it walked away... it is fine I thought it was a bobcat then a kangaroo... yeah it is just what came to my mind.

Mr. T and I finally got to the car, we had a way fun drive home... I learned a lot about Mr. T he speaks 4 languages and he is pre-med, and a really hard worker.  It was just lots of fun, I had a great time.. plus on top of that he asked me out again.
